Direct Selling V's PAYE Employment

Often when your involved in Direct Selling and your under taking the task of prospecting you will meet people who are negative towards direct selling.

Common Responses are:

  1. Thats not a proper job
  2. It's that Pyramid Selling thing
  3. You have to buy a warehouse full of stock

Thats not a proper job

To those who consider it not to be a proper job yes you are correct it does not have some of the same actions as a PAYE job.

However if you where offered a job that:
  • Had uncapped income potential
  • Allowed you to work the hours that suit you
  • Allowed you to take time off when your kids are sick
  • Allowed you to reduce Childcare fees by being at home more
  • Gave you fantastic recognition for your hard work
  • Took away the fear of redundancy
  • Paid you yearly bonuses
  • Allowed you to retire when you wanted to stop working
  • Allowed your hard work to be willable

Would you take the PAYE approach or Direct Selling?

The Direct Selling Association (DSA) are very keen to get people back into work if they have had the unfortunate position of being made redundant.

Recently Bob Parker Managing Director of Forever Living met with UK government to discuss Direct Selling Opportunity's

Bob Parker - House of Commons lunch:

It's that Pyramid Selling thing

Pyramid selling is illegal and no current Multi Level Marketing / Direct selling company operates that way.

A Pyramid scheme is an unsuitable business model that involves promising participants payment or services, primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme, rather than supplying any real investment or sale of products or services to the public.

You have to buy a warehouse full of stock

Within our business you do not have to buy any stock unless you want to.

Money Tree

Do you dream of being shaded under a Money Tree?

Generally in life people dream either about winning the lottery or shading under a Money Tree.

Unfortunately real life money trees are what dreams are made of but there are opportunity's in life where it could certainly feel like you have one.

The question you have to ask yourself is how big do want the money tree to be, how big and bold can you dream.

We have a number of people that dream and achieve big:

Does your current PAYE job give you bonuses like the ones pictured above?

If it does then your probably in the same business as us, if not why not?

You work hard enough don't you, you give it 110%, your there early in the morning and late at night.

The problem is with general business's they have overheads, bank loans, national insurance contributions, to name a few and directors and owners that like to take their big fat cut.

The answer is you have to become one of those owners or directors in your own business.

Owning your own business can be a very simple process if you have the support and mentoring of people around you.

We can give you the seeds to create that money tree.

Take the time to look at our online 30 minute video, could be the best decision you made in life.

Hate Monday's

Do you hate Monday's?

Does your week consist of thank god it's Friday (TGIF) and then a form of depression on a Sunday night knowing that tomorrow is Monday.

1 in 3 people hate Monday's generally for the same reasons and the biggest reason being that they have to return to their 9 to 5 PAYE job

Top Monday Moans:

  1. You dread your working week
  2. You're already missing the weekend
  3. It takes a while to get back into work

When you actually calculate how long you have on this earth, time is precious.

Time in jelly beans:

Life should not be about having the PAYE job as the main priority in your life but unfortunately as you are sitting their thinking well how do I pay my bills without a job, it is.

However there are other opportunity's open to you but it takes one big change from you:

If your looking for a life thats filled with excitement and happiness, where you can prioritise the parts that you want to and do the things that you currently only dream about.

Take 30 minutes to watch the online video detailed below:

Stop moaning

In a quest to build a direct selling business you have to prospect people.

Prospecting people entails communication from one person to another to find out where the prospect is in their life and where they want to be.

We continually hear the following responses:

>I'm underpaid
>I'm overworked
>I don't get any recognition
>I don't see my kids
>I hate my job

And the list goes on and on.

But amazingly when you get to the point in your communication where you've asked the magic question.

The responses are surprising, often negative and not what you expected after  hearing how much they didn't like their current situation.

To all those people you have to remind them of the one golden rule in life:

Never Buy Likes

Once all of our social media profiles had been set up we were informed of a very valuable lesson.

As any of us would be when setting up a new social media profile we wanted to get people to like our pages.

We were under the impression that more "LIKES" meant followers would be impressed at the number of our "LIKES" and like us just because 100's to thousands had already liked our page.

The question was how to get 1000's of followers?

One quick option was to purchase "LIKES"

However after reading sections of the article below "Never Buy Likes".

Facebook uses an algorithm that decides which stories appear in each user's newsfeed. The algorithm hides boring stories, so if your story doesn't score well, no one will see it.

The first thing someone sees when they log into Facebook is the newsfeed. This is a summary of what's been happening recently among their friends on Facebook.

Every action their friends take is a potential newsfeed story. Facebook calls these actions "Edges." That means whenever a friend posts a status update, comments on another status update, tags a photo, joins a fan page, or RSVP's to an event it generates an "Edge," and a story about that Edge might show up in the user's personal newsfeed.

It'd be completely overwhelming if the newsfeed showed all of the possible stories from your friends.

So Facebook created an algorithm to predict how interesting each story will be to each user. Facebook calls this algorithm "EdgeRank" because it ranks the edges. Then they filter each user's newsfeed to only show the top-ranked stories for that particular user.

Facebook looks at all possible stories and says "Which story has the highest EdgeRank score? Let's show it at the top of the user's newsfeed. Which one has the next highest score? Let's show it next." If EdgeRank predicts a particular user will find your status update boring, then your status update will never even be shown to that particular user.

By buying "LIKES" these so called people are not actually users of your page and will generally not interact at all with your page. So the only people interacting with your page will be your friends and genuine followers.

Because the ratio of actual interactions with your page against the number of fans you have will be low, you will find that most of your Facebook fans will never see your status updates.

To make sure users see your status updates stick with actual 100% genuine fans.

Social Media Profiles

Social Media Profies are a must in this day and age.

You will find global companies putting more effort into social media than ever before.

Being able to interact, communicate and sell to the millions of users on Facebook and Twitter has to be the easiest way of marketing.

So we started with Facebook:

Then we added Twitter to our portfolio:

Then Pinterest:

Finally we started a blog.

Working social media is a key part to the success of a company. It needs to be worked daily to keep your interested followers aware of your comings and goings.

People love to be nosey all though if you asked them they wouldn't admit to it, but they do especially photos and videos.

The first signing

Signing your first team member is exciting times.

We had spent a little time with our new recruit but as with us, seeing the business plan, the potential earnings and being part of a great team was what clinched the deal.

So there it was our first signing.

Now it was time to support and train this new recruit and make her into the manager she was destined to become.

Twitter updates

While working all of our social media profiles we came across the option within Twitter to cross pollinate onto Facebook.

What a fantastic idea everything we wrote on one platform was copied straight to the other.

However under investigation it would seem that Tweets that are copied to Facebook do not reach anywhere near as many users as a standard Facebook status.

We carried out a few tests and the results indicated that standard Facebook statuses reached on average 50 users compared to the 1-2 users the cross pollinated Tweets reached.

Lessons learnt we disconnected the cross pollinate option and returned to Tweeting and Facebooking independently.

Having spent my entire life needing a lot of sleep. Starting a new business around my current full time job was going to be a challange.

I have always been a person that wouldn't make it past 10pm. As soon as the clock struck 10 my eye lids would start to drop.

The challange was to overcome this fatigue.

To start with I commenced a program of Aloe Berry Nactar and Bee Pollen.

After just 3 weeks I was starting to feel the benefits and within 4-6 weeks I was able to work until 11.30pm.

I was so grateful as this would give me another hour and half to work on our new business.

The first 6 weeks

The first 6 weeks after we had decided to join Forever was crazy.

We were still working our full time jobs, we still had to parent 3 young children, run a home and try to have some form of social excitement.

One big point we made was that when we had handled what we needed to sort, we then concentrated on our Forever business.

Eastenders and Coronation Street were out the window. Our priority was our business.

It felt a little bit like a drug, getting excited for the time when you could start to work with it.

We didn't miss the tv programs and all in all we probably had 4 nights within the first 6 weeks where we actually did something social together.

To us this sacrifice was going to be worth it.

The Inspiration to join

About 4 months ago it was time to carry out a detox. That sluggish, bloated and all round fatigued feeling was starting to become really annoying.

Forever Living products where our first choice. We had done our homework and watched loads of people documenting their great success with the Clean 9 cleansing program.

So off we went with the 9 day challange.

The results were fantastic and the feeling of having a cleaner body and with the side effects of loosing 6 inches and 6 pounds was a bonus.

Having carried out the detox just before an annual holiday we jetted off to foreign pastures feeling happy to walk down the beach in swim wear.

While on holiday we were given a book from a Forever Distributor.

After we had read it we were totally inspired to be part of the most beautiful business on earth.

Along with the fact we had first hand experience of the products and knew they worked perfectly.

So we organised a meeting looking over a beautiful marina and commited ourselves to be part of the Forever umbrella.

Where it all began

About 2 years ago we somehow ended up being given a PUPP box to play with.

Don't ask us who lent us the box but there it was, all shiny and full of products.

For 48 hours we could play with all that was in it.

Paul grabbed the heat lotion as he was currently suffering with a bad back.

Our second eldest daughter was suffering with eczema so we used the propolis cream on her.

I don't remember playing with any other product.

We must of generated some interest to  our supplier concerning the business.

However after learning a little more about the business plan and the potential earnings we where very skeptical.

Did we really believe that people were earning the amazing figures we were being told.

In answer to this question, we didn't and at that point we joined another direct selling company.

To us Forever Living was to good to be true.
